📏 How to Measure Your Feet for Roller Skates (The Right Way!)

Getting the right skate size starts before you ever place an order — and measuring your feet properly can make the difference between skates that feel amazing and skates that end up gathering dust.

Whether you’re brand new to skating or upgrading your setup, here’s our simple, no-stress guide to measuring your feet the right way for roller skates.

🧍♀️ Always Measure Your Feet While Standing

When measuring your feet, you should always be standing, not sitting.

Why? Because when you stand:

  • Your feet spread slightly under your body weight

  • Your true length and width are revealed

  • You’re far less likely to end up with skates that feel too tight

Sitting measurements often come out smaller than your real skating size, especially in width — which can cause discomfort, pressure points, and numb toes.

👉 Standing = more accurate fit

✏️ What You’ll Need

  • A sheet of A4 paper

  • A pen or pencil

  • A hard floor (not carpet)

  • The socks you plan to skate in

🛼 Step-by-Step: How to Measure Your Feet

1️⃣ Stand on the paper

Place the paper flat on the floor and stand with your full weight evenly distributed.

2️⃣ Trace your foot

Hold the pen straight up and down and carefully trace around your foot.

👉 Don’t angle the pen — this can add extra size.

3️⃣ Measure the length

Measure from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe.

4️⃣ Measure the width

Measure across the widest part of your foot (usually across the ball of the foot).

5️⃣ Measure both feet

Most people have one foot slightly larger — always size skates based on the larger foot.
